Physical glass tempering equipment is a device that heats flat glass and then rapidly cools it. This process creates compressive stress on the surface of the cooled glass and tensile stress inside, thereby enhancing the strength of the glass and transforming ordinary annealed glass into tempered glass. Since this tempering method does not change the chemical composition of the glass, it is called a physical glass tempering device. If classified according to the heating method characteristics of the equipment, this equipment can be divided into forced convection heating tempering equipment and radiation heating tempering equipment. If classified according to the structure and functional characteristics of the equipment, it can be divided into combined tempering equipment, flat tempering equipment, curved tempered glass equipment, continuous tempering equipment, bidirectional tempering equipment, hanging furnaces, etc.
Chemical tempering equipment enhances the strength of glass by altering the chemical composition of its surface. Currently, there are methods such as surface de-alkalization and alkali metal ion exchange. Because this tempering method alters the chemical composition of the glass, it is called a chemical method glass tempering equipment.
